The Local First Coffee Hour events are a casual opportunity to connect with member businesses, hear about our upcoming programs, and learn how to build an economy that puts people first. We host them monthly with the support of Bloom Credit Union.

Come for the coffee, conversation, swag, and a chance to win 13 mentions on WYCE as a daily sponsor.

Safety expectations: We’d like to continue meeting monthly in-person for our Coffee Hour events. To safely do so, we ask that our attendees be mindful of their distancing. Masks are recommended for individuals not fully vaccinated. We will follow the masking practices of our host venue. Local First will also provide hand sanitizer.

Individual Mindfulness Instruction with Carol Hendershot

I know how difficult it can be to jump into something new.
When I first encountered mindfulness, it seemed scary and uncomfortable.

Even though I felt like I was out of other options, it took me a while to take that first step.
When I did, it was so reassuring to have someone I could lean on to guide me each step of the way.

I would love to be that person for you.

Mindfulness:

   •  Enhances the ability to manage stress
   •  Increases confidence and self-acceptance
   •  Improves sleep, focus, and attention

Self-Compassion:

   •  Improves the ability to handle difficult emotions with grace
   •  Boosts self-acceptance and acceptance of others
   •  Teaches us to motivate with encouragement instead of criticism
