For 16 years, the Fulton Street Artisans Market has been a marketplace for Michigan artists & makers to come together, sell their goods, and share their passions with each other and the local Grand Rapids community.

Founded by the artists back in 2005, the mission of the Artisans Market was to give local community members an opportunity to not only buy handmade goods & artwork, but to interact and learn about the creative processes involved. It also serves as a hub for West Michigan artists to network & build relationships with other talented & passionate people.

A collection of artwork that celebrates the places or moments in time that provide us a chance to retreat, relax, and recharge. Pieces range from representational or abstract depictions of locations, objects, or an atmosphere meant to inspire, uplift, and transport to a place of rest or renewal.

Gallery hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10am - 6pm, and Saturday, 12pm - 5pm.

Ever wonder what your librarian reads when they are off the desk? In celebration of our 150 year, we are sharing 150 books selected by our staff.

Public libraries have a special place in people’s hearts. From childhood memories to transformational experiences, each story is unique. In celebration of our 150 anniversary, we want to hear your GRPL story! Share your memories through our online submission form and attach photographs, videos, and/or drawings.

On June 19, 2021 from 9am-3pm, enjoy a unique opportunity to tour the private gardens of various historic homes and public spaces in the Heritage Hill Neighborhood near Downtown Grand Rapids. Garden lovers can take in the scent of roses, winding flowered paths and bursts of early summer blooms in an architecturally significant setting. For the first time, the event is being extended to Pleasant Park and will feature food trucks, an outdoor marketplace, and children’s activities.

Tickets to the Garden Tour are $12 and are available to purchase at www.heritagehillweb.org. The event at Pleasant Park will be extended to 4pm and is free to the public, no ticket required.

The early September weekend allows for mild weather and a final opportunity to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Boston qualifying hopefuls can make the cut only one day before registration opens.

Every race finisher receives a commemorative race medal. Those completing all 3 race distances in separate years earn the coveted Trifecta Medal.
