Support our work!
The Local First program is funded in part by the small businesses who join our organization as members. We are doing our best to mitigate barriers and offer our services to the businesses who need it.
To help offset the financial burden that membership dues might put on some of our members, we’ve created the Pay What You Can scholarship program. To apply, businesses share how a year of Local First membership would help them. This helps us build our programming to address the most immediate needs.
Your generous contribution to this program allows us to continue leading the development of an economy grounded in local ownership. Together, we can help businesses meet the basic needs of all people, build local wealth and social capital, work in harmony with our ecosystem, and encourage a joyful community.

Thank you, website donors!
These businesses helped fund the new Local First website. Because of their support, local businesses in West Michigan have an upgraded promotional platform and a direct line to our growing Localist audience. It’s now even easier to shift your spending and vote with your dollar.
Make sure to use the Local First directory often to keep wealth circulating in our community!
Here are just a few ways we build connections for our members.
